Clarity: Sales people perform well when they know what is expected of them. So, you need to give them clear ideas and goals.
Urgency: A good sales manager should be always ahead of his team, foreseeing things. You should always have something ahead of your employees to make them work faster.

An entrant into the sales field should have a degree in sales or marketing related fields. People with MBAs become sales managers straight away in some cases, but your expertise and experience in this industry matters more than your qualification. So, people who have joined as sales representatives and then climb the ladder to become sales heads are so common in this field. This is a well rewarding career with wide variety of positions and salary ranges. A sales manager may start with a salary of around $60,000 and for Regional Sales Managers the salary may go beyond $150,000. So, if you have that fire in your belly to perform well and to outperform others, then this field is waiting for you.
